We received so many enquiries regarding the suits Tommy is wearing throughout this season of 'The Tommy Tiernan Show'. Tommy is solely wearing suits created for him by The Tweed Project.
With extensive experience in costume design and styling, Triona Lillis has worked as Tommy’s personal stylist for the past 10 years. Triona is also one half of Irish fashion brand, The Tweed Project, working alongside Aoibheann McNamara, based in Galway.
The Tweed Project combine beautiful Irish fabrics with modern tailoring to create handmade, one-off pieces for a truly authentic expression of Irish design. Every collection made over the last 10 years has been crafted solely with Irish fabrics, in Ireland for the world.
Over the last few years, Triona started to introduce some of the brand’s pieces into Tommy’s personal wardrobe and more recently, into his TV wardrobe over the last few seasons of 'The Tommy Tiernan Show'. The fabrics used are all Irish linens and tweeds. The linen is sourced from Emblem weavers in Wexford and the tweed is sourced between Molly & Sons in Donegal, and Kerry Woollen Mills. In keeping with Tommy’s personal taste, each suit is crafted in a very relaxed style, a Chore Jacket, casual and unstructured with a stand collar. The 1930s-inspired trousers are loose fitting with a wider leg, button up fly and deep lightly pleated pockets. The look is reminiscent of the traditional suits worn by the men of the Aran islands, keeping Tommy’s style rooted with his heart in the West of Ireland.
"It's always been my pleasure to dress Tommy over the years of the show , but this season has been extra special where my own designs with The Tweed project have been worn by Tommy.” - Triona Lillis
All Tommy’s suits are made bespoke like everything The Tweed Project produces.
